Ok so today was a slower day with a bunch of lectures and meetings. This morning we visited the Ministry of Education to study some of the way that the Basotho people generate classroom materials. Before I get far on what we did, the name of the facility (for those of you Harry Potter fans) totally reminded me of the Ministry of Magic. Heck yess!! It was interesting to see some of the way they do things on this end. The curriculum experts were very interested in how we integrate arts and social studies together and when we shared how we did it.
Speaking of water, after the visit to the ministry we then visited the water treatment plant which shared with us some of the initiatives that SA is using to gain money for the country. Well as provide electricity for their cities. It was kind of interesting to see the way the facility was ran and how it benefited the country, but man was it a slow day.
Finishing off the night with more language lessons which was fun. The lady helping us is also the woman who owns the home. Her name is Brigid. She has totally done such a good job teaching us these simple phrases which makes our interactions rally kind of special :) One of the words I like the most is this one ...
Kelebohile - ke le bui le (I am thankful)
These are the 85 sheets full of Sesotho phrases and sayings and our lovely guide Brigid helping us out. She rocks :)
- With all my thanks :)
